Founding Member · Lifetime
One of the first 1,000 supporters who chose to fund this publication into existence. Thank you. That word doesn't carry enough weight here, but it's the right one.
Your $200 payment processed through Stripe and your Founding Membership is locked in for life. A receipt is on its way to the email address you used at checkout. If you don't see it within a few minutes, check your spam folder, and add [email protected] to your contacts so future correspondence lands in your inbox.
The publication itself stays free to read for everyone — that's the whole point of the Founding tier. Your $200 helps make sure it stays that way. The bench-notes PDFs and Founder's note start arriving in your inbox as we publish them. You don't need to do anything; just watch your email.
The first Founder's note will land in your inbox within the first month. It'll cover what's been built so far, what's coming next quarter, and where the publication is genuinely figuring things out as it goes.
Update your email, view your receipt, or change anything on file any time through the Stripe Customer Portal. Stripe will send a one-time login link to the email address on your account. There's no recurring charge to cancel and no subscription to manage; the portal is there if you ever need to update what's on file.
For anything Founding-related — questions, feedback, or just to say hi — write to [email protected] from the email you used at checkout. I read every Founding Member email personally.
If you haven't yet, the foundation of the publication lives in the Substrate Library — The Root Zone, How Substrate Actually Works, and The Aroid Ingredient Glossary. The Plant Profiles for Begonia, Alocasia, and Monstera are where the genus-level deep dives are starting to take shape.
Founding Members aren't customers, exactly. You're the people who chose to fund this publication into existence before it had earned the right to ask. That's a different kind of relationship, and I'm going to treat it like one.
I'll write to you. I'll tell you what's working and what isn't. I'll show you the unfiltered version of how a one-person publication actually gets built. And when the physical Guild eventually opens its doors, your name will be on the wall, and you'll have the keys before anyone else.
Thank you for being one of the first thousand.
